ZOROASTRIANISM: first monotheistic religion founded by

ZARATHUSTRA (618-541 BCE) of IRAN (land of the Aryans)

COSMIC BATTLE between GOOD and EVIL

Struggle between an evil (left) and good genies

If EVERYONE is eventually SAVED,

then it matters very little HOW one lives.

All that is necessary for the triumph of EVIL

is that good men DO NOTHING.

It is better to die for something than to live for nothing.

Zoroastrianism has THREE principles:

GOOD THOUGHTS

GOOD WORDS

GOOD DEEDS

The MIND is the GATEWAY to the BRAIN----

as OUR THINKING, our thoughts, SO IS OUR MIND.

Your whole life revolves around your MIND and INTELLECT.

MIND and INTELLECT generate strong LIKES and DISLIKES:

Feelings and emotions are linked with the process of THINKING,

or its product: THOUGHT.

The question of going beyond the MIND

is itself a MENTAL MIRAGE!

WITHOUT OUR MEMORIES,

WHO WOULD

WE BE?

MEMORY: to remember - recollect: a notion or idea coming into the MIND again as previously perceived known or felt:

keep the memory alive - enshrine in the memory - that inward EYE - cast the eye back - calling forth a memory run in the head.

WITTGENSTEIN:

IMAGINATION is the echo of a THOUGHT

The LIFE of the UNIVERSE

was the

CREATIVE WORD

To SEE with his THOUGHTS (images) and with the LENSES of his MIND (imagination) MAN CREATED “THINGS”

LANGUAGE is the DOORWAY to the BRAIN: into our VIRTUAL WORLD -

it is the outward expression of an UNUSUAL MODE OF THOUGHT:

SYMBOLIC REPRESENTATION.

HE WHO HAS NO WISHES

HAS NO GODS

The WISH is the origin - the very essence - of religion:

the essence of the gods is nothing but the essence of the wish.

BOOK OF HEBREWS - 11:1

FAITH is being sure of what we HOPE for and certain of what we do NOT SEE.

SAINT -- AUGUSTINE

FAITH is to believe what we do NOT SEE and the reward is to SEE what we BELIEVE.

NIETZSCHE

FAITH - means the will to avoid knowing what is true.

SELF-DECEPTION is like a drug.

We do not SEE things as they are - we SEE them as we are.

POETRY:

The art of arranging WORDS

to a pattern of “sounds and rhythm” -

its role: a means of access to the

COLLECTIVE MEMORY

of a

SONG AND DANCE CULTURE

[still practiced in some churches today]

GROUP--DANCES from the IRON AGE until the 20th CENTURY

Group dances typically emphasize "community unity" - storytelling and intense musical interaction: rhythmic stomping and clapping - synchronized movements often performed in circles or lines to celebrate traditions.

RELIGION: A BELIEF SYSTEM

A ritual method for living: a framework - glue - for living in a community.

MYTHS

CREATION MYTHS----HISTORICAL MYTHS

While myths can sometimes be based on factual origins, they are generally considered legendary narratives rather than literal accounts and are passed down through generations to provide meaning and cultural worldview.

A myth is a traditional story that serves to explain the origins of the world, the nature of phenomena or the beliefs and values of a particular group of people, often involving supernatural beings. In common language, a myth is also a false or unsubstantiated belief held by many people.
