He was the eldest son of King NABOPOLASSAR—founder of the NEO-BABYLONIAN DYNASTY of Chaldea. He won the battle of CARCHEMISH with EGYPT, thereby ending the Assyrian Empire. BABYLONIA became the main power in the region. He besieged JERUSALEM and razed the city and TEMPLE: 586-BCE. King Zedekiah of Judah went with its inhabitants into exile to Babylon The Kingdom of Judah, a vassal nation, was abolished and annexed as a Babylonian province.

Nebuchadnezzar built BABYLON: the largest walled-city in those days.

Nebuchadnezzar also reconstructed the entire ruined city of UR.

GENESIS 23:-15—19

Abraham bought the CAVE and fields of Machpelah near Mamre—HEBRON—for 400 silver shekels and buried his wife Sarah—age 127—in this cave.

The CAVE of the Patriarchs—Abraham, Isaac, Jacob—was erected by

King HEROD in the first century BCE.

The silver shekel was MINTED (Iron Age) circa 500-BCE.

Genesis 25:7—10----THE DEATH OF ABRAHAM

Altogether, Abraham lived a hundred and seventy-five years. His sons ISAAC and ISHMAEL buried him in the CAVE of Machpelah near Mamre (Hebron) in the field Abraham had bought (for four hundred silver shekels) from the Hittites. There Abraham was buried with his wife Sarah.

Let us "assume" that Sarah died, age 127, in 500-BCE.

Abraham lived 175 years; he should have died in 450-BCE.

GENESIS 25:20

Their son ISAAC married Rebekah. When Isaac was 60 they had twins: Esau and JACOB

JACOB married Leah and Rachel. Genesis 29:14

Genesis 46: JACOB goes to EGYPT with his "family": his descendants.

THESE are the names of THE SONS OF ISRAEL ---who went to EGYPT with JACOB (grandson of Abraham) each with his family:

Reuben, Simeon, Levi and Judah; Issachar, Zebulun and Benjamin; Dan and Naphtali; Gad and Asher. [Book of EXODUS]

THE DEATH of JACOB in EGYPT.

JACOB tells his sons that he wants to be buried in the CAVE at HEBRON that Abraham had bought. There—Abraham and Sarah were buried. There—Isaac and Rebekah were buried. And there he buried Leah. [Genesis 49:29]

So—Jacob’s SONS did as he had commanded them. Genesis 50:12.

Let us "assume" that JACOB died around 300-BCE.
